FIVE THINGS FOR A FRIDAY
THE PULSE SURVEY
A few facts and figures to share with you this week. We recently undertook our first Pulse Survey to set a benchmark about what you think of Edinburgh Napier Students' Association and to help guide our resources in the future. We were given an overall rating of 7.41 out of 10, which is good. Our target is 8 to 10 (which is very good). Full details of all the results will be published soon.
THE STAFF SURVEY
We asked our staff what they thought about working for ENSA, In 9 categories we saw positive increases with other areas remaining static and a couple declining. Our overall rating last year was 65.5% good/very good and this year it was 70.79%, so going in a positive direction. Our target is 80%. People like working for us due to the variety and balance of work. Words to describe ENSA were inclusive, supportive, resourceful, fast paced, dynamic and helpful.
FACTS AND FIGURES
We have a Annual General Meeting before the Student Council on Tuesday 29th April at 2pm. This is an opportunity to see the accounts for year 2023/24 (not the current 2024/25 year which ends June 2025). This seems quite late for student members to be reviewing figures from last academic year and we are making moves to do this earlier, so bear with us!
2024/25 IMPACT REPORT
We are working on the impact report for this academic year. I've been here for seven months and it has flown by! Highlights will be reported at the AGM and our Board Meeting later on Tuesday. Thanks for all your particpation over the last year and thanks to all the staff, interns, volunteers and sabbaticals for their amazing work this year.
WE ARE NOT FINISHED YET - THE EXCELLENCE AWARDS
More positive facts and figures for you. Nominations are still coming in for the ENSA Execellence Awards and with over 400 nominations already we have smashed last years total. Thanks for your nominations. Details of how to make your nomination can be found here and the lucky winners will be announced at an event in May.
AND FINALLY...
On March 28, 2025, Myanmar was struck by a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake, the strongest in over a century. The quake caused widespread destruction across Sagaing and Mandalay regions, tragically claiming over 5,400 lives and 7,108 injuries, and leaving 508 missing. This disaster has led to a major humanitarian crisis, with countless families in urgent need of aid, support and temporary shelter.
In response, Myanmar students at Edinburgh Napier University, in collaboration with ENSA, are organising a fundraising event to help provide critical relief for those affected. Details can be found here and you can donate online NOW here. I'd urge all students and staff to donate if you can and share to family and friends. Thank you for your support.
