FIVE THINGS FOR A FRIDAY
ELECTION RESULTS DAY
After six months of work and preperation the Student Election results are announced today at 6pm in the Glass Room at Merchiston. I understand it will be streamed LIVE on Instagram or you can attend in person. Thanks to everyone who voted and to all the candidates for taking part. How many people voted? Who won the roles? We don't know and you still have time to vote today. We will also get the result of the National Union of Student Referendum. Did we get the required 5% quorum of the Edinburgh Napier Student University student body for your result to stand? All will be revealed at 6pm. Still time to vote Yes or No to NUS. Thanks to everyone involved in the referendum.
THE HARD WORK STARTS NOW
I am not going to sugar coat it. Winning an election is one thing. I would say the job of being a student sabbatical is far harder and cannot be entered into lightly. Meantime staff and students still have some work to do this academic year. First up in the annual Varisity matches between Queen Margaret Union ad Edinburgh Napier Students' Association on 26th March. Read more about that and the After Party here
CLUBS AND SOCIETIES BALL
Another major event in the Sports Clubs and Societies Ball. Thats on Friday 4th April and everyone is invited. I understand tickets are selling well for the social event of the year so get your as soon as possible. Details here
BYE MURRAY
Many Sports Clubs and Societies will know our staff member and Student Activities Adminstrator Murray Bushell who is leaving us early April to take up a new role at Scottish rugby. Myself and the ENSA Team wish him well. That means there is a new role becoming available at Edinburgh Napier Students' Association and it is advertised here.
NEW STUDENT ROLE AND NEW BOARD LAY DIRECTOR
We have taken on some new student interns this year for photography, marketing, events and now we have a new paid role for a Welcome Week Intern. Details of what is required can be found here As a charity we are looking for a new Board Member - preferably with financial skills. Details of that role can be found here Other Board Members and their skill sets can be found here
If you join our staff team you will be working with a great group of people. Most of them can be seen here. As the road to study, exams and the end of the academic year means things quiet down on campus we are all still working hard until the end of June on your behalf and preparing for a new set of Student Sabbatical Officers. All will be revealed...tonight!
