5 THINGS FOR A FRIDAY
At time of writing we are two hours from the close of nominations for the Sabbatical Elections. We have a healthy number of candidates standing for the three roles.
IT'S UP TO YOU
Save the date. From 10th March the student body get to vote who they would like to see as their sabbatical for next year. The ballot takes place over the week. We'd like as many of you to vote as possible.
NUS REFERENDUM
From 10th March we also have the referendum to stay in or leave the National Union of Students. Hopefully you will get plenty of information to make a decision. Again we'd like as many of you to vote as possible.
STUDENT FORUMS
Daniel, Craig and Murray have been busy listening to the Student Voice from Student Council, Class Reps, Sports Clubs and Societies this week. We have also been engaging positively with the University to meet some of the challenges head on together. These sessions are really useful for you and the team here at ENSA and have been workign well I hope. Listen to Daniel talking about Student Represenation on the Wonkhe podcast here
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
The new Chair of our Board Lang Banks was in the office this week followed closely by the Interim Chair of the University Court as I explained next steps for the Students' Association. After a tour of other Student Unions across Scotland, where I learnt a lot (and thanks for your time everyone) the next stage is to talk to our Board about fresh ideas, future plans, budgets and resources to improve the Student Experience and develop our community even further here at Edinburgh Napier University. To accompany this the team had our first Finance and Risk meeting before the Board next week, we are close to finalising our HR Staff Handbook and the start of a new person to support our current finance staff before the end of the month.
It's all very exciting...but who is going to stand for election? Find out soon....
