5 THINGS FOR A FRIDAY

Today is the end of the Napier Student Film Festival, the Ceilidh is on track to be a sell out, people are coming forward for University Movember Challenge, the moustaches are growing and we are on track to reach and hopefully exceed our fundraising target.  It has been another busy week at ENSA.

WELFARE WEDNESDAY

Every Wednesday on the website our Advice Service will be bringing you Welfare Wednesday. It may be a tip, piece of advice, something to look out or prepare for. They will touch on issues they are being made aware about or it may even help with a problems before it occurs. There is no need to be anxious because our Advice Service Advisors Cecile, Alice, Diane or Marianne will be there to help you.  Over the last two weeks the team have touched on Carer Support Payments and membership of the Edinburgh Advice Network.

EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION

We continue our review of effective representation within ENSA, the University and outwith our sphere of influence. The Societies and Sports Clubs conducted their second set of forums.  We also met and trained our two new student lay Directors to the ENSA Board, which meets in a couple of weeks time. We will announce who they are after their first meeting.

LETS TALK SPORT

This week also saw a round table discussion around Sport with ENSA and the University, initiated by Ryan our Sports Sabbatical.  We all agree that Sports and Exercise can help with health and wellbeing, retention and benefits to participants in their future careers and there is a will to enhance Sport at Edinburgh Napier with various stakeholders working together.  The Group are working in their Terms of Reference and will meet again soon.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT CHALLENGE

This week sees the halfway mark of the Project Management Challenge and we are considering possible external funding to take forward some of the ideas.  We are also confirming plans and funding for our Awards season so if you wish to support sustainable projects, sports clubs, societies and academic success get in touch for a discussion via ensa@napier.ac.uk.
