Job Title: Social Media and Communications Intern
Contract: Fixed Term (until April 2020)
Hours of Work: 15 hours per week (across 3 days – preferably Mon/Wed/Fri)
Rate of Pay: £20,344 pro rata
Holiday Entitlement: Fixed holidays (2 weeks at Christmas plus accrued leave at Easter)

Job Purpose:
To keep ENSA’s social media and other communications updated, relevant and engaging to the student body at Edinburgh Napier, targeting the audience as a whole, as well as specific segments of the student demographic. To provide relevant information, profile student activity, promote ENSA-supported events and campaigns, and increase awareness of issues affecting students’ lives, as well as providing entertaining and thought-provoking content.
Description of Duties:
- To schedule, post and respond to ENSA social media messages across all appropriate platforms timeously, to maximise impact and positive profile for ENSA.
- To develop and manage a calendar of timed posts, derived primarily from ENSA’s over-arching calendar of events but also including ad hoc posts where required.
- To create content: written articles, photos and videos across platforms and channels, including website, posters, publications, flyers.
- To monitor ENSA sports and societies channels, as well as externals, for relevant content.
- To monitor content across ENSA channels and platforms, working with Full-Time Elected Officers to develop their online profiles.
- To observe all necessary protocols and instructions in relation to posts, including use of personal data, language, conflicts of interest, and election restrictions.
- To work with the communications, and wider ENSA, team to gather relevant content from across all areas of the organisation.
- To work with the communications, and wider ENSA, team on the development and implementation of communications strategy.
- To monitor other media channels to keep updated with best practice.
